DESCRIPTION

We are looking for software developers who are passionate about databases and large-scale storage technologies, and excited about building database systems that run across thousands of servers across multiple datacenters worldwide. This is a core system development position where you will grow to own the design and development of significant system software components critical to our industry leading database services architected for the cloud. You will be part of the team that architects, designs, and implements highly scalable distributed database systems with availability, reliability and performance guarantees.Key job responsibilities- Solve challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, at every layer of the stack.
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.

A day in the life
- As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects.- Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.- Work in a startup-like development environment, where you’re always working on the most important stuff.Work/Life Balance:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 2+ years experience maintaining and/or using large Cassandra cluster.
- 1+ years experience contributing to Apache Cassandra.
- 1+ years building large-scale systems or web services
