Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager in the Purchase Order forecasting team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of software engineers focused on building the next generation of order forecasting solutions. You will work closely with research scientists and product teams to develop innovative prediction models, while driving the technical strategy and roadmap for purchase order forecasting systems. An important aspect of your role will be ensuring operational excellence and reliability of mission-critical forecasting infrastructure. You will partner with business stakeholders and senior leaders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions, while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence within your team.A day in the life
Here's what you could be doing on a daily basis:
- Facilitating the design and architecture of the distributed and highly scalable services needed to solve supply chain problems in this space
- Delivering on the product roadmap while managing the full software development lifecycle of the services.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
