JOB DESCRIPTION
Director, Communications, China The highest quality English and local language writing skills will be critical, as well as experience of managing and developing high performing communications talent in China. Responsibilities include:
•Leading a local communications team in China, focused on business and executive communications that support growth and engage internal and external audiences.
•Serving as the strategic Communications counsel for our regional business leadership and supporting global executives’ communications initiatives when in-region.
•Positioning Honeywell with key audiences at critical events such as WEF Annual Meeting of New Champions and CIIE. •Writing/editing high-quality editorial content for different audiences and platforms – from press releases and features to blogs and dynamic content.
•Working directly with media and closely with our PR agency partners to build positive relationships with our most important influencers.
•Regionalizing global messaging and communications materials to ensure they resonate with local audiences.
•Coaching and training Honeywell executives to interact with the media.
•Measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of internal and external communications efforts to demonstrate functional impact to marketing, HR and the wider business. Basic Qualifications
•At least 15 years’ internal and external communications experience, with tenured team leadership.
•Highest standards of written and spoken fluency in English.
•Experience in B2B industrial or technology sectors, working directly with top media contacts.
•Demonstrable understanding of external and internal communications measurement and metrics to evaluate and articulate the impact of results.
•Prior media/journalism experience is strongly preferred.
•University degree, preferably in Journalism, Marketing Communications, or related field. Valued Attributes:
•High quality writing skills - an understanding of AP style is strongly preferred.
•A highly structured approach to managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to build rapport with a diverse global team and regional business leaders.
•Skilled at navigating complex internal structures, and quickly adjusting to processes and approval systems to maintain a fast pace of delivery.
•Ability to independently and proactively get projects done and tackle problems head on.
•Positive, high-energy attitude and willingness to embrace change to find new ways to achieve results.
•Ability to travel up to approximately 20% of time within China.
