In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Batch Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Bank’s production and test environments. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Installing, monitoring, and maintaining Control-M batch scheduling for various environments (Production, UAT, etc.).
- Developing and maintaining KSH scripts to automate processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborating with IT Operations teams to address user needs and ensure smooth batch operations.
- Documenting scheduling batch processes and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
- Troubleshooting issues, resolving problems, and ensuring compliance with Control-M security standards.
- Aligning with the Bank’s security framework and adhering to published security protocols and RACI matrix.
- Promoting a security-first mindset to safeguard the Bank from vulnerabilities and potential exploits.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Control-M Expertise: At least 5 years of experience with Control-M for batch scheduling and job automation.
- Scripting Proficiency: Strong skills in KSH (KornShell) scripting for task automation and job management.
- Familiarity with IT operations, including installation, monitoring, and maintenance of batch processes.
- Understanding of security compliance standards and frameworks to ensure adherence to the Bank’s security protocols.
- Experience in banking industry.
- Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
- Swiss nationality or valid Swiss work permit / EU nationality
- Swiss Residency
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Knowledge of additional scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- Familiarity with databases and SQL for job scheduling and data manipulation.
- Experience with other job automation and monitoring tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Certifications in Control-M or relevant IT disciplines are advantageous.
