Roles and Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Assess commercially available wireless solutions for implementation within MR designs, with focus on link reliability, power, and platforming/lifecycle.

• Define and execute testing to evaluate wireless concepts in challenging RF environments.

• Drive schematic capture for circuit boards implementing associated wireless designs and high speed interfaces.

• Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.

• Lead electronic module ownership from concept, through evaulation, to product release.

• Collaborate with other technical (firmware, mechanical, etc) and functional teams (service, program, etc) to define interfaces, requirements to enable development and prototyping.

• Lend technical expertise to Installed Base teams to support design fixes and customer escalations.

• Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years relevant industry experience, 3+ years wireless / RF experience
  • Experience and knowledge in the area of digital design and control
  • Wireless test equipment: protocol analyzer, spectrum analyzer etc
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
  • Experience with typical electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, wireless protocol analyzers
  • Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years relevant work experience (RF/Wireless)
  • Schematic capture experience
  • Demonstrated experience in design of standard bus formats such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and I2C
  • Experience implementing WiFi in design and productizing, working with commercially available chipsets & antenna solutions
  • Familiarity with industry standard wireless protocols such as WiFi, Bluetooth, WiGig.
  • Familiarity with embedded processors, drivers, and defining interfaces to WiFi chipsets
  • Demonstrated experience in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tool
  • Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
  • Experienced in developing project plans and estimates
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • EMC compatible design/solution experience
