Key job responsibilities
* Work with peer teams and customers to design suitable software systems and interfaces with underlying hardware to fulfill the RF Payload needs.
* Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software and integrated mission outcomes perspective.
* Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers.
* Aid in the design of mission critical systems in Project Kuiper.
* Collaborate with your fellow team members to integrate various system elements, both hardware and software.Export Control Requirement:
A day in the life
This role is for a senior leader in the Kuiper Payload Software organization, responsible for driving the research & development, deployment and operation of RF Payload part of the Kuiper satellites and Ground Gateways. You will own the roadmap and mission for Software and work with your customers to refine requirements, understand constraints, hire & grow your team and iteratively deliver value to our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience in RF systems software development.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Hands-on experience in developing embedded/low-level Networking/distributed software systems in C/C++, and/or Rust.
- Hands-on experience in developing software for Linux.
- Hands-on experience with satellite/RF/wireless communications and control/management software.
- Experience with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
