As a Transportation Consultant, you’ll Support facility design related to the maintenance of and repair focused on transportation vehicles including electrification, layout and necessary upgrades. You’ll oversee the design, manufacturing process and installation of transportation vehicles as well as infrastructure, including locomotives, carriages, wagons, multiple units, buses, trolleys and facilities. You’ll monitor and manage the design new trains and electrical or mechanical parts, supervise modifications and resolve technical problems. We’ll ask you to also oversee routine maintenance duties to ensure that trains are in good condition and meet quality and safety standards

You’ll be tasked with answering technical and commercial questions from clients as well lead junior team members with day to day functions related to rolling stock engineering.

We’ll rely on you to analyze and prepare reports on complex technical equipment problems, failure trends and fleet reliability issues, as well as investigate any part failures or maintenance issues.

As a critical member of ongoing projects, you’ll communicate and interact with Rail and Bus Manufacturers – Siemens, Alstom, Bombardier & New Flyer and NABI; and OEMs – Cummins, Allison, Thermo-King, Meritor, EMP, MAN and local contractors to resolve technical issues and also provide engineering support.

Here's what you'll need

• Substantial experience in the rail and transit industry

• Previous experience should include engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, vendor management and direct customer engagement.

• Experience as manufacture/supplier as well as customer side.

• Emerging knowledge of transit vehicle industry standards, systems, and practices

Ideally you’ll also have:

• Professional society membership such as the American Society of Electrical Engineers or American Society of Mechanical Engineers
