Individuals in Cross Disciplinary Controls are responsible for multiple activities within the Controls capabilities such as assessment & design, MCA, QA, Monitoring & Testing, Issue Management, and/or Governance Reporting & Analysis for effective end to end oversight, design, implementation, and execution of controls. Individuals in this role may cover a broad range of in-business/function risk and control responsibilities rather than focusing on one specific role.

The Risk Data, Analytics, Reporting and Technology (DART) Governance Analyst is responsible for the production of comprehensive risk information and control for Citigroup, the Board of Directors, Country, Legal Vehicle, Regulatory, Internal Audit, and other critical work streams.

This role is a Governance and Controls Governance Analyst reporting into the DART Controls Team. The role integrates in-depth risks and controls knowledge with a solid understanding of Regulatory and Management Reporting and Model Development. More specifically, the individual will play a key role in managing and mitigating operational, compliance and regulatory risks, and executing risk and control responsibilities for the DART function.

What you will do:

  • Work with existing Team Leads and SMEs to gain an understanding of our existing processes and oversight, ensuring preventative and detective controls are in place and monitored.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of our processes to ensure compliance to the relevant Policies and Standards
  • Provide governance on issue management oversight process to ensure timely remediation aligned with the issue management policy and standard.
  • Critically evaluate concerns/proposals/processes to ensure a full understanding of any potential risk is identified and addressed.
  • Perform analysis on effectiveness of existing controls, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
  • Identify Opportunities to enhance governance activities focused on increasing efficiency and reducing risk.
  • Help assist in the execution of Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Model Risk Management Policy, Regulatory and Management Reporting Policy and adherence with all related Risk Management and Compliance Policies.
  • Participate in governance activities including monitoring adherence to the MCA program, including the annual/semi-annual/quarterly/monthly attestation, quality oversight, and related reporting.
  • Evaluate adherence to the MCA in accordance with the ORM Policy & Framework, as well as applicable Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Assess activities and processes as per required Policies, Standards and Procedures to strengthen risk management quality.
  • Identify, create, and manage self-identified resulting from control design or execution deficiencies.
  • Perform issue quality reviews ensuring compliance with Issue Management Policy, Standards and Procedures
  • Help develop standardized risk and controls reporting to ensure sound, dependable, and consistent information exists across the organization, enabling better management and decision-making in line with the expectations of senior management, Board, and Regulators.
  • Assist in the coordination of Citi's governance committees.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Your Profile and Education:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in Banking, Finance, or related consulting with a focus on risks, controls, issue management and data analysis preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to track deliverables, and articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging; developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and potentially convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts; capable of navigating ambiguity and problem-solving complex issues in a heavily matrixed corporate environment and rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly organized and motivated initiative-taker with strong diligence and a teamwork-oriented approach
  • Strong people skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization within and across project teams, functions, and business units.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (advanced expertise in Excel, SharePoint, Teams a plus).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
