Description
As an algorithm developer you will be responsible for crafting the creative look of videos captured with Apple cameras by developing capture side tone mapping algorithms. You will drive algorithm development across all stages of the cycle; from the initial idea and proof of concept work through on-device implementation all the way to field testing, validation and finally surprising and delighting our customers. - Prototype novel tone mapping algorithms in high level software languages such as Matlab or Python- Define and develop feature proposals for different use cases targeting consumer and professional markets
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Track record of developing image processing algorithms for example: auto white balance, tone mapping, auto exposure and high dynamic range capture
  • Validated coding skills in Matlab or Python
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with a digital camera image processing pipeline and the Image Signal Processor (ISP)
  • Understanding of image quality metrics and subjective evaluations
  • Proven knowledge of HDR encoding standards
  • Prior experience with professional video content postproduction and color grading workflows
  • Curiosity about vision science and/or color science
  • Programming skills in C/C++
  • Exposure to machine learning algorithms
  • Passion for photography and videography
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
