Land Acquisition Director, based in the United States, will report to the North American (NORAM)and play a pivotal role in leading efforts toland, even prior to zoning being in placewithin new markets as well ascurrent regions. This entails spearheading risk analysis and crafting presentations for scenarios and opportunities where such strategies areand beneficial.

Responsibilities include researching and coordinating opportunities to secure land by comprehensively understanding current land use and navigating the conversion process through zoning/entitlement. Additionally, the role involves accelerating market growth through proactive engagement with pre-construction activities in the NORAM regions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 7+ years relevant experience
    • OR 10+ years equivalent experience.
  • 7+yearssiteselection, real estate, or entitlement experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in transaction history in an industrial/commercial or data center real estate operation with a national footprint

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select, negotiate, and recommend acquisitionstructuresfor approval.
  • Ability to negotiate effectivelyacross private owners,municipalities,and institutions

  • Coordination with development, engineering, construction, project managers and legal teams amongst others, to enable evaluation of acquisition targets.
  • Guide and coach Land Acquisition Managers(including other regions) within a matrixed organization.
  • manage external suppliers including technical firmsand utilitiesacross projects.
  • Manage multiple assignments across US and Canada.
  • Provide input into the long-term delivery strategy to drive real estate acquisitions that support the Microsoft Cloud transformation.
