Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering)

General Responsibilities:

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios

• Continuously improve software engineering practices

• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions

• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity

• Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)

• At least 2 years of experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with AWS

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

• 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes

• 2+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby)

• 2+ years of experience with Unix or Linux system administration

• Proven experience integrating and utilizing vendor-supplied APIs

• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including QoS, NAT, VPNs, and firewalls

• Familiarity with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Splunk and Observe

• Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, VoIP, and WebRTC protocols.

• Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for voice systems

McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Senior Platform Engineer Plano, TX: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform EngineerThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
