As the Director of Finance, you'll serve as the trusted Finance Business Partner to leaders in our R&D Innovative Medicine and program leadership groups. In this dynamic role, you'll navigate a challenging, fast-paced, and ever-evolving environment, providing both strategic guidance and tactical oversight to ensure that financial insights shape our decisions and drive us towards success.

How you’ll spend your day
  • End-to-End Financial Oversight: Take charge of all financial planning and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborative Alignment: Collaborate closely with Therapeutic Area (TA) Leads and Program Leaders to challenge and align functional budgets, forecasts, and expenses, identifying cost drivers, budget changes, and addressing gaps.
  • Proactive Financial Leadership: Lead financial processes for both short-term and long-term objectives, proactively identifying and implementing mitigation plans as needed.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with global marketing and commercial financial teams to optimize program financial measures, maximizing growth and return on investment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish robust financial working relationships and processes with external stakeholders, including alliances and partners, to ensure alignment and drive mutual success.
  • Strategic Prioritization: Maintain project lifecycle spending and associated financial measures, providing critical insights to support strategic prioritization decisions.
  • Business Development Support: Act as the R&D finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for respective Therapeutic Areas, supporting Business Development initiatives to drive innovation and growth.
  • Agile Adaptation: Embrace additional ad hoc assignments, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to delivering exceptional results as needed.
Your experience and qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting, MBA – Preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years progressive financial analysis experience with at least 5 years in Global pharmaceutical industry – supporting R&D development programs (acquitted with clinical development plan of innovative medicines)
  • Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes. Month-end closing, year-end closing, and advanced understanding financial reporting.
  • Advanced office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP modules and in particular SAC for planning and advance analytics
  • Advanced process skills to manage and improve complex cross functional processes.
