What you will do
Oversee the day-to-day management of a global team of managers and individual contributors, both junior and senior-level, who are responsible for unique workstreams supporting secure development at Red Hat.
Facilitate team-building activities and workshops to strengthen collaboration.
Facilitate periodic in-person team-building activities as the on-site manager in Brno.
Ensure team open communications as well as encourage active listening, and constructive feedback within the team.
Create and drive vision/strategy with staff; responsible for developing and delivering on strategic and business goals for the team. Responsible for developing and maturing appropriate supporting data and metrics.
Collaborate closely with leadership peers to deliver expected results and contribute to defining the strategy for the team.
Work closely with peers in different regions to ensure we have one voice across the team.
Perform one-on-one sync-ups, performance, and coaching sessions with all team members on a weekly basis.
Act as an agent of change to help mature the organization, adopt and promote the Red Hat culture, and emphasize the focus on customers.
Hire new people and retain key talent.
Ensure the team’s work aligns with Red Hat's strategic direction of secure development practices and actively participate in driving milestones and process improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, IT, and development teams, to ensure security is integrated into all stages of the development process.
Manage scope by taking on new work as business needs evolve and prioritizing appropriately, keenly focusing on resource allocation and work distribution
What you will do
Experience implementing secure software development practices in an enterprise.
Demonstrated experience in working in an Agile, project-based environment.
Comfortable with handling, balancing, and driving multiple priorities, and working under pressure.
Demonstrable experience with people management, change management, team dynamics, coaching, and conflict resolution skills on a globally distributed engineering team.
Ability to successfully lead through ambiguity and change.
Leadership style that is approachable, collaborative, inclusive, and respectful.
Ability to understand the software development lifecycle and the systems used to build the software.
Experience facilitating workstreams with engineering teams in demanding environments
Experience communicating risk-based security requirements to the business versus check-the-box security
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work across multiple time zones to coordinate with global teams.
The following are considered a plus:
Understanding of open source development models.
Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent knowledge from experience.
Demonstrable experience working in a product security organization and engineering organization.
Experience in open-source software development lifecycles is preferred.
