Technical Sales, Automotive OEM

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Work closely with the Global Account Manager and Global team to execute Sales Business Plan and Strategies to maximize revenue growth, increase market share, and position 3M as a strategic supplier at a key assigned customer.
  • Develop and establish strong cooperative relationships with all levels of the customers’ organization and departments.
  • Identify solutions to address customer challenges. Manage/close respective projects, cultivate new growth opportunities, and build sustainable pipeline via a CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Work closely with Business Portfolio Managers on competitive analysis, market intelligence and pricing negotiations.

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of Automotive Sales experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering. Bachelor’s degree in business or manufacturing will also be considered.
  • Five (5) years of sales or program management experience with Tier 1s and OEMs in the Automotive market.
  • Excellent presentation, organizational, andrelationship-buildingskills
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving Skills
  • Proven track record of winning designs and supporting multi-national customer
  • Superb attention to detail, analytical capacity, and both written and verbal communication
  • Experience using Salesforce and other software for sales support
