ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage key photolithography tooling projects, including new tool installation and support of existing tools
  • Monitor photolithography process and equipment performance, identify issues and work with vendors, maintenance, or engineers to fix tools
  • Certify and train maintenance, chemical technicians, and equipment tool owners on tools and processes
  • Establish written procedures and specs for maintenance technicians
  • Provide resolution & reduction of tool and process-related rework and scrap issues
  • Lead investigations for equipment-related excursions with tools vendor in order provide viable solutions
  • Responsible for the transition of new technology to production as well sustaining existing high volume processes
  • Develop and implement lithography solutions to facilitate new designs, increase process margin and improve wafer yield
  • Develop control strategies (SPC, APC) for improving and sustaining manufacturing processes (CD, OLY control, shape)
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver leading edge technology solutions for product, yield and cycle time optimization

REQUIRED

  • MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or Nanoengineering with a graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
  • Candidates who will not require relocation to the San Jose, CA area will be preferred

Technical Skillset

  • Experience in semiconductor wafer process/equipment through professional and academic work is preferred
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics through tools like JMP, SAS, SQL, Python, or similar

Emotional Intelligence/EQ

  • Experience working on group projects or in a team environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, listen to feedback, and contribute positively to discussions.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and programming languages as per project requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to different tasks and projects as the team’s needs evolve.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and follow up on issues to closure

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
