Perform Payroll Tax Filings for USA and Canada on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for a multi-state corporation and ensures timely filings and payments. Filing of Annual Tax Forms to agencies.
The Payroll Specialist 5 will support assigned tax liabilities, of Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including the related compliance, financial reporting, planning and controversy processes.
Experience with reconciliations and balancing.
Research and respond to any agency notices and work to resolve issues.
Processes assignments meeting the Service Level Agreement requirements and works within established deadlines and schedules.
Works with other team members on established projects and initiatives.
Performs more complex tasks in support of the team manager and area projects as assigned.
Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
Works under little to no direct supervision and supports an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services.
Coaches and trains more junior payroll specialists.
Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in preparation and filing of multi-state payroll taxes to Federal, State and Local tax authorities as well as Yearend/Annual payroll tax filings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with little supervision.
Knowledge of Workday, ADP MasterTax and ADP Smart Compliance a plus.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent, College education a plus
