Your key responsibilities

• Oversee day to day financial and accounting operationsto ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and comply with statutory requirements
• Oversee and prepare analysesfor Leadership to evaluate business performance, including:
  • Perform analysis of consolidated P&L results against budget and forecast targets and prior year results
  • Summarize key risks and opportunities and make recommendations
  • Identify cost and margin optimization opportunities
  • Prepare routine and special reports for senior management as necessary
• Lead the annual planning and budgeting processwith Leadership, ensuring financial resources are properly aligned with EY’s goals and objectives
• Plan, develop and recommend best practices, procedures and controlsto ensure the integrity of financial information is maintained
• Business Strategic Planning:Provide Leadership insights on potential financial issues. Recommend solutions that are in adherence with EY policies
• Build relationshipsand partner across enablement services to improve the process and quality of deliverables.
• Identify and drive initiativesto continuously improve, automate and scale the finance function
• Lead the finance team

Skills and attributes for success

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and make sound decisions, initiate actions in response to situations as they arise, maintain high standards and able to bring in own experience within the industry
• Deep understanding of the business and financial performance drivers
• A successful track record of implementing and leading key business change initiatives

To qualify for the role you must have

• Have a professional qualification in accounting and is a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA)
• Experience in large, multi-national corporations or professional services industry is an added advantage
• More than 12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting practices

Ideally, you’ll also have

• A general understanding of the local financial and economics market landscape
• Experience in driving transformation initiatives
• Experience in effectively building, leading, managing, and coaching finance professionals
