Assistant Manager – Strategy

As part of our EY-Parthenon team, you will help clients develop their investment strategies and evaluate potential transactions. Working with EY-Parthenon’s proprietary frameworks, you will help clients to take steps the best way to raise, invest, optimize and preserve their capital. This includes developing growth and market entry strategies, conducting strategic portfolio reviews and undertaking commercial due diligence studies. The client base spans across industries and includes blue chip corporates, multinational investors and Private Equity firms.

We are looking for Assistant Manager, with expertise in Strategy Consulting to join the spearheading group of our EY-Parthenon Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a prominent firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.

Your key responsibilities

  • Work on technology due diligence and strategy engagements and support project leads with high quality deliverables.
  • Analyse target companies' technology platforms, architecture, data, security, operations, and processes, and assess alignment with client’s strategic technology direction.
  • Support engagement lead/partner to identify potential technology risks and issues that could impact deal terms, technology fitment, or post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Perform market research and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to provide solutions to unstructured client problems.
  • Work with onshore partners and client teams to work on day-to-day project tasks given with high degree of ownership.
  • Prepare and present clear, analytical, and concise reports and presentations for onshore engagement teams, outlining the key technical findings, business impacts and recommendations.
  • Identify potential technology risks and issues that could impact deal terms, technology fitment, or post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Work closely with onshore partners to lead key workstreams of the client engagements and business development activities.
  • Stay updated about the latest developments in technology and constantly update the due diligence process accordingly.

Skills and attributes for success

  • A well-rounded understanding of various technologies, platforms, and applications is vital. This may include software development, cloud computing, product roadmap, cybersecurity, data analytics, and more.
  • Deep understanding of software development process and various best practices. Capability to evaluate the product lifecycle, from inception and development to deployment and maintenance.
  • Prior software developer or software engineer would be a plus
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in MS PPT, Excel, Word, and other enterprise applications
  • Clear Articulation of thoughts and strong communication skills
  • Understanding of Databases – Thomson, CapIQ etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge to asses tech architecture, tech stack, and hosting technology
  • Ability to assess complex technology environments and analyze them in the context of business objectives. This includes the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate data.
  • Prior experience on product management, product owner would be a plus
  • Clear Articulation of thoughts
  • Experience working with Global Stakeholders

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 5+ years of work experience in strategy and consulting projects
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills,
  • Exposure to enterprise tools like Power BI or Alteryx, working knowledge of VBA, Python will be plus.
  • Master’s degree with bachelors in engineering
  • Experience in working research and analysis of companies and markets, preferably from a commercial or tech due diligence standpoint would be a plus
