What you need to know about the role

Job Description:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction for development, interpretation, application and governance of policies around payment wallet partnerships

  • Drive a team in developing and enforcing policies and standards related to cross-borderpayments partners

  • Revise policies to support business needs and asses any anomalies that require exceptions to be made to normal operations

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., across Legal, Compliance, Technology, Risk) to update policies, and standards, including identifying and developing any new operating rules that the business or partners would be subject to

  • Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., financial institutions, regulatory bodies, payment partners, industry consortia) to keep policies and rules up-to-date in line with markettrends/requirements

  • Monitor regulatory developments (including across AML, KYC, Sanctions, Data Privacy, and others), and impact to operations, policies andstandards

  • Negotiating compliance resolution plans with clients to achieve the best mutual outcome

  • Drive partner compliance by implementing strategic measures and providing guidance

  • Develop proactive programs designed to identify policy and compliance violations by partners

Your day-to-day

  • Cross Functional Operations:
    - Review requirements across a large cross-functional, multi-location team.

  • Governance:
    Support the development of a robust governance model designed to support PayPal and its partners.

  • Project management & execution
    : Manage strategic projects end-to-end, delivering actionable recommendations for key partners, and coordinate execution of recommendations with key stakeholders as needed.

  • Research & analysis
    : Conduct and/or lead key qualitative (e.g., primary research, synthesis of secondary datasources).

What do you need to bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Ideally 10+years of experience in multi-stakeholder policy and rules development at a major payments company or fintech
  • A strong understanding of cross-border payments landscape, including latest market and regulatory trends, and understanding of how cross-border payment infrastructures operate
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility over time
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with a range of internal/external stakeholders
