The Global Law Tax Quality Leader reports to the Global Tax Quality Leader and Deputy Global Tax Quality Leader and is expected to be a full-time role.

The Global Law Tax Quality Leader, consulting with the Global Tax Quality Leader, is responsible for monitoring, controlling and enhancing the quality of Law services and technologies and for the consistent execution of global policies, procedures and methodologies.

Your key responsibilities

The Global Law Tax Quality Leader’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with Global Law Leaders regarding Law strategy and priorities
  • Apprise Global Law Leaders of changes to EY policies and regulatory developments impacting the Law business
  • Advise Global Law Leaders and professionals regarding regulations, professional standards, quality imperatives, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Review and advise regarding new Law services and revisions to existing Law services
  • Draft Law-specific guidance and procedures and discuss these with Law leaders
  • Review new tools and technology, including AI solutions, to support efficient delivery of Law services
  • Liaise with Global and Region GCO, quality and risk management executives, and Law leaders regarding legal entity structure, regulations, and licensing requirements
  • Research and apply EY policies to fact-specific questions raised by engagement teams and leaders
  • Consult with Law engagement partners regarding quality and regulatory matters relevant to providing services across member firms and regions
  • Support Law engagement teams, Region quality and risk leaders, and Global Risk Management in managing conflicts of interest
  • Promote compliance with laws, regulations, and EY policies in discussions, via training, and through practice communications
  • Prepare communications and lead presentations on quality and risk topics to Law business and Global and Region Tax Quality leaders
  • Support Law Quality Reviews and Law Tool Owner Reviews
  • Participate in Global Tax Quality meetings
  • Lead a Law Quality Network to connect and share leading practices with other Tax Quality colleagues

Skills and attributes for success

  • Undergraduate/University degree; law degree preferred.
  • 15+ years prior, related work experience.
  • Proven ability in the client environment, including significant experience in serving multinational engagements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EY’s Global organization, strategy and culture.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Tax Service Line, enabling the ability to identify Law quality issues in existing and new service offerings and work proactively with the business to resolve these.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with, respond to and influence leaders at all levels.
  • Able to balance the need to be approachable and supportive with the requirement to be resolute and resilient in challenging situations.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Flexibility to accommodate calls and meetings across time zones.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience and awareness of legal regulatory regimes or client facing legal experience.
  • A strong existing network of contacts within EY, both within and beyond the Law subservice line.
  • The ability to be future-focused, solutions-oriented and adapt to new and developing areas (e.g., sustainability, the impact of AI) as the business evolves.

What we offer
The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges.We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $175,500 to $450,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $210,700 to $512,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
