About the Opportunity

Jacobs are looking for a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer with experience in the development of outline and detailed designs of flood risk management and river engineering solutions to join our Water and Catchment Management team in Peterborough. You will also assist in producing and leading FCERM appraisals. You will play an important role in delivery of outline, planning, tender and detailed design projects for our diverse range of clients including the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other public and private clients including Water and Sewerage Companies, Highways England, Network Rail, HS2 and Major Airports. This will include tasks such as: Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to produce outline and detailed design for flood risk management solutions, which will include tasks such as: Support of design management of Earthwork embankments and conveyance channels; Reinforced concrete structures and foundations; Steelwork structures including piling; Flow control structures; Flood gates and demountable defences; Surface water drainage and Natural Flood Management solutions.

Here's what you'll need

You will be a Chartered Engineer (ICE or CIWEM) with experience in the development of outline and detailed design solutions for flood risk management schemes. In addition, you’ll need:

- BEng / MEng Civil Engineering

- Experience of Safety in Design and Designers responsibilities under CDM

- Experience of coordinating and leading multi-disciplinary teams in the development of design solutions

- Interest in or experience of staff direction and development

- Understanding of FCERM appraisal guidance is beneficial
