Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

• Partner with Product Creation Teams along with Sourcing and Factory leads to develop industry leading creative and functional (manufacturing and costing) solutions and prototypes for Lifestyle inspired Sportswear Footwear

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpreting design intent, offering alternative and supplementary solutions; acting as a technical resource to HQ partners and Factory Leads
• Adapting concepts and renders into functional Tech Packs and prototypes
• Create and revise Tech Packs for assigned styles/models and ensure all key must haves are achieved, focusing on aesthetic, proportion, costing, and manufacturing.
• Track and facilitate prototyping of multiple projects with tight timelines, identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing/costing, and plan accordingly to deliver world class product.
• Collaborate with HQ with design support for potential in-line and SMU designs
• Present and communicate creative solutions with clarity, effectively selling in ideas to variety of stakeholders at key milestones
• Communicate and share new insights and best practices to enable potential new design solutions for the rest of the team

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience interpreting design intent and renders, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical resource.
• Ability to participate in multiple seasonal projects with competing resources and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of various product types, silhouettes and categories
• Comprehensive knowledge of shoe building from design sketch phase to manufacturing
• Understanding of color / material trends, compatibility, and color placement
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
• Proficient working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability
• IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint: advanced /Outlook, Smartsheet
• Digital Design Skills proficiency (design based software knowledge needed: adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop; Rhinoceros and other CAD software knowledge is a plus)
• Language: English: excellent

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• Under-graduate level Design education or combination thereof
• Solid education and advanced experience in the creative development of communication tools
• At least 2-3 years experience in Sporting Goods/Fashion Industry or Design
• Passion for adidas and its mission
