Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical design of parts and assemblies using Creo/Solidworks and generate drawings with GD&T for high precision wafer positioning motion stages, wafer chucks, and related tooling
Conduct design reviews, procure prototypes, & work with vendors for various parts and assemblies
Drive prototype testing, system integration, stage servo tuning, stage qualification testing, and handoff to manufacturing
Perform analysis and simulations, such as, structural, thermal, vibration/modal FEAs, motorcurrent/voltage/powercalculations, etc.
Create documents and procedure formanufacturing/assemblyof various systems
Collaborate with other engineering groups such as systems engineers and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration
During prototype testing will team with servo control, firmware and SW engineers to resolve any issues and optimize performance
Must have:
Four years' relevant experience in mechanical design/solid modeling; structural, thermal, and vibration/modal FEA.
DFM experience with machining, sheet metals, and castings
Proficiency with analysis tools such as Matlab, Labview, or Python
Nice to have:
Design experience of X,Y sub-micron accuracy positioning stages
Experience in vibration optimization and design for high stiffness to weight ratio.
Vibration and modal testing using accelerometers, impact hammer, etc.
Semiconductor capital equipment design experience
Motion control and servo tuning
Implementation/use of high-resolution feedback devices such as encoders and laser interferometer
Experience with motors and encoder selection for motion stages.
