To work within the engineering team on designing new or improving designs of existing x-ray tubes. This Position requires understanding of concepts, methods, procedures & strategies for design & development of x-ray tubes & sub-assemblies. Learn practical application of scientific & engineering principles, achieve expertise in X Ray Generation & X Ray Sub systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Activities will include development of new designs and/or supporting enhancements to existing designs of X Ray Generation Devices by specifying hardware requirements followed by characterization, product integration and manufacturing transfer

  • The candidate is expected to gain a detailed functional understanding of the entire product, act independently, devise and drive innovative analyses and solutions for complex problems.

  • Develops strategies, makes decisions and leverage technical expertise to differentiate GE products & services through multi generation technology plans

  • Execute design using sound materials science principles & scientific tools

  • Develop test plans & perform testing & verification of designs, perform design calculations to support design work and lead technical design reviews

  • Work as a part of a team including cross functional team members & suppliers to deliver technical solutions

  • Work with customers and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives

  • Mentors & coaches junior technical contributors

  • Lead development of new techniques & methodologies for x-ray tube designing & process development

  • Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support

  • Developing and maintaining X Ray Generation subsystem quality and engineering project funnel

  • Defining and executing component design verification

  • Maintain and develop competence required for the job

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD in Metallurgy/Materials Science

  • Freshers can apply, 3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Experience in failure analysis, materials characterization techniques, phase diagrams and heat treatment

Desired Characteristics:
  • PhD in Metallurgy/Materials Science

  • Demonstrated ability to Design Experiments & analyze data

  • Demonstrated ability to find Physics based solutions to fundamental problems

  • Demonstrated ability in using fundamental materials science principles

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
