The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Distribution Science Data Analyst , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Data Modeling: Design and develop data models to support supply chain operations, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain managers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data models meet business needs.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, including ERP systems, databases, and external data providers, to create comprehensive data models.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide real-time insights into supply chain performance.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data validation and cleansing processes.
  • Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization within the supply chain through data analysis and modeling.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data models, processes, and procedures.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Analytics, Finance, Math, Computer Science or Information systems (completed and verified prior to start)
  • One (1) year of Data Analysis and Visualization experience in tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL or Alteryx in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with Microsoft Access, MSSQL, JDA/DLx, WMS , PowerBI, Tableau or Alteryx, Power Apps.
  • Statistical Modeling: Knowledge of statistical methods and software such as R or Python
  • ERP Systems: Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Optimization Techniques: Familiarity with linear programming, simulation, and other optimization methods.
  • Experience working with and developing applications based on large data models
  • Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and operations.
  • Communication: Excellent
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
