As a Senior Manager, Project Manager at Capital One, you will apply your project, program management and analytical skills to major company challenges. You will lead and team with world-class professionals to develop and deliver strategies and projects that ultimately impact the bottom line. In this Senior Manager role, you will lead initiatives in the Card Partnerships business supporting commercial and consumer partners and customers. You will apply your project and analytical skills to partner with Product, Tech, Operations, and General Managers to continuously improve the customer experience for our Partnership customers and remove friction points with new product development and conversion launches. You will provide operational support to existing partners and internal general manager teams to build and maintain well-managed operations, grow our business with partners, and ensure well-run and efficient processes.
General Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth and improved customer experience success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior
Business ownership: Have an ownership mindset and build and deliver on strategic planning with a 6-12 month horizon
Leadership: May manage and develop a team of associates. Coaching and mentoring associates throughout the organization with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One
Project: Develop business cases to articulate the value behind business strategies and project ideas. Lead and manage horizontal and vertical projects that benefit specific partners or organizational-wide initiatives
Execution: Coordinate across Partnerships, the Card business, and other LOBs on efforts that leverage best practices and capabilities for our partner customers and strategic imperatives. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytical risk management
Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. Should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results
Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Teamwork: Track record of building strong client relationships, internally and externally. Ability to incorporate multiple perspectives into problem solving and arbitrate competing interests and priorities to identify the appropriate solutions. Constantly reaches out to partner teams to gain additional insights, rally support, and elevates the entire team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 4 years of experience in Project Management
At least 3 years of Relationship Management experience
At least 2 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
At least 1 year of experience in People management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or MBA
5+ years of experience in Project Management
4+ years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external business clients
3+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
2+ years of experience with project management platforms (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence)
2+ years of experience in people management
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
