Roles and Responsibilities

• Be an active business partner to GEHC China, providing ongoing legal advice to business and working with business to identify strategic opportunities to increase growth/reduce costs in a highly regulated environment
• Drive projects, transactions, new scheme feasibility study to move forward, with flexibility and solution provider mindset
• Conclude sales, services, distribution, sourcing, research, and other important business agreements and provide advice on legal consultation
• Oversee emerging risks as well as corrective actions, and implement strategies that will protect the business and manage business risk
• Support compliance investigations and compliance projects as appropriate
• Monitor disputes and litigations and supervise external counsels with controlled budget
• Anticipate and drive solutions for unassigned legal and business issues and growth initiatives
• The role is to be based in Beijing, and reports to the Legal Director of GEHC China Legal Team

Qualifications and Requirements

• Attorney qualification in China
• Attorney qualification in other countries (U.S., U.K, etc.) is a plus
• A minimum of 10 years of business law experience at a large international law firm and/or a multinational corporation’s legal department, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex business transactions in a regulated environment
• Experiences in bidding law, anti-trust, bribery/commercial bribery are preferred
• Expertise in litigation is a plus
• Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving complex legal issues quickly and effectively
• Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated industry that drives business outcomes
• Experience of the Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations is preferable
• Advanced leadership capability in engaging and developing team
• Ability to effectively communicate in both English and Chinese
