The VMR Operations organization is looking for a passionate, insightful, and results-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to help manage our ever-growing datasets across VMR Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for building insights and driving strategic business decisions through data. You will design and implement data-driven solutions to business problems related to vulnerability management tools and processes. You will harmonize data from disparate locations and partner with security engineers and leaders to bring clarity to priorities and risk. Finally, you will be challenged with proactive analysis of large datasets to uncover key insights as you learn about and integrate critical systems across Amazon.Key job responsibilities
• Lead the development of robust BI solutions for complex problems, that are extensible and scalable.• Deep understanding of business objectives and continually align work with those objectives to meet needs of business.• Develop data strategies that cut across functional teams and make technical trade-off decisions for long term/short-term needs.• Detailed understanding of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use, and which not to use.• Serve as liaison between the business and engineering team to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance, and ad-hoc investigations to support future improvements or innovations.• Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze and build data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.

- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
