Job Background/Context
ICM/CCR is a critical component of Citi’s First Line of defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk management and works with Independent Risk teams to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, as well as client responsiveness. Key responsibilities of the group include credit analysis, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. ICM coordinates with credit management groups across banking and markets businesses to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices where appropriate. ALD is a critical activity of Citi’ Securities business, supporting the daily liquidity and inventory needs (hedging and funding equities and fixed income requirements across the firm). The role involves daily interaction with Agent Lenders, Citi’s securities businesses as well as the independent risk organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the credit review of new ALD principal Lenders for approval by ICM and Risk Credit Officers/Senior Credit Officers
- Investigate and assist with the remediation of limit excesses to support business needs
- Provide inputs for annual review memos
- Negotiate credit terms of legal documentation and escalate nonstandard terms to ICM and Risk Senior Credit Officers for approvals
- Put together monthly presentations of the ALD portfolio including analysis of exposures, trends, and exceptions approvals
- Work with Risk colleagues and business stakeholders on risk mitigation and exceptions at both inception of transactions and on an ongoing basis
- Develop and utilize risk management tools for the measurement, monitoring and management of exposure and participate in project management of strategic risk infrastructure development
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in credit risk/counterparty credit risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry
- Experience in Funds and Securities Lending Transactions preferably
- Strong understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk measurements methodology
- Proven ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize issues to senior management and prioritize daily tasks
- Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and analytic skills
- Strong Excel skills ideally incorporating VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), programming skills in Python, R or other statistical languages is a plus
• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in mathematics, science, finance/economics, risk management or a related field required
• An MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred, and formal Credit Training is a plus
