Responsibilities:

  • Test, install, replace, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machine and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Record and document repair and machine maintenance information.
  • Assist in training maintenance apprentices
  • Monitor activities of other people working including contractors.

Required:

  • A minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
  • Completion of Federally-Certified (8,000 hours) formal industrial manufacturing skilled craft training program or equivalent. Or a college degree from a technical school in the electrical field.
  • Willingness to be on-call.

  • Manage projects and time to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be literate and have electrical aptitude.
  • Must be able to develop a daily work plan and be able to adjust priorities, projects and work assignments as fluctuations in business dictate.
