• Provide guidance to site managers and employees, conduct internal, and support external, audits to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS requirements and design/recommend corrective and preventative action plans
• Develop and conduct EHS awareness and safety programs for the sites
• Identify EHS risks and define/recommend proactive mitigations
• Ensure that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with all relevant EHS and GMP requirements
• Create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan in collaboration with the site leadership team
• Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance company’s reputation
• Provide site leadership with analyses of incidents and investigation reports to identify significant or notable trends and opportunities for improvement
• Support site leadership to create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the sites that inspires a proactive attitude towards employee safety
• Help site leadership create an environment where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship
• Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees at the sites
• Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence (OPEX) principles and visible leadership to achieve goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness
• Support the site leadership team, impacting decision making and taking an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, teamwork and collaboration across site functions
• Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in class professional level of EHS globally
• Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in company’s business interest
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline required
• Professional certifications such as: CSP, CIH preferred
• 5+ years of EHS experience including management and technical knowledge (such as: waste, water, air emissions, audit and inspection, industrial hygiene, hazard communication, ergonomics, and EHS management systems)
• Basic knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation and current best EHS practices
• Experience in a distribution environment a plus
• Project management knowledge and experience working within matrixed environments and knowledge of OPEX principles and tools
