Job Summary

The candidate is required to be the main point of contact for regulatory communications for the key regulator, including but not limited to Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA or BDDK), Capital Markets Board (CMB or SPK) and Turkish Financial Crimes Investigation Board (TFIU or MASAK). The candidate will work very closely with Senior Management of the Istanbul Branch, engage with internal stakeholders, front office, mid office and support functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • To act as the registered MLRO for the JPMorgan Istanbul Branch.
  • To assess key regulatory changes impacting Compliance and Financial Crime related risks
  • To support local business and regional GFCC teams, including In Country Sanctions Officer (ICSO) role.
  • To perform Compliance and Financial Crime related monitoring and training activities
  • To provide input into New Business Initiative Approvals involving business operations, assessing Compliance/Regulatory issues/impacting proposed new products and services
  • To proactively support Senior Management for promoting a strong Compliance culture, establishing Compliance priorities with Senior Management, and communicating these priorities effectively.
  • To advise Senior Management, Line of Businesses and Functional Line Management on local and Firm wide standards to manage Compliance risks.
  • To identify and investigate potential rule breaches (including errors and complaints), providing options available to manage and mitigate them and coordinating corrective action with other control functions, as /require.
  • To support licensing and registration requirements of JPMorgan Istanbul Branch and employees subject to licensing and registration

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • To be a citizen of the Republic of Turkiye.
  • To have graduated from a higher education institution providing a minimum four year-program in Turkey (or abroad provided that its equivalency is recognized by the Council of Higher Education).
  • To have robust knowledge and understanding of local and international Compliance and Financial Crime related legislations Tobe a citizen of the Republic of Turkiye.
  • To have graduated from a higher education institution providing a minimum four year-program in Turkey (or abroad provided that its equivalency is recognized by the Council of Higher Education).
  • To have robust knowledge and understanding of local and international Compliance and Financial Crime related legislations.
  • Minimum ten years of experience as the Compliance Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer in an international Financial Institution
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, both in Turkish and English
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Capital Markets Board Level-3 License are assets.
