Description
Optical design & analysis expertise:Demonstrate a track record of optical designs in fields such as VR, AR,camera optics, or other fields requiring high-end-performance imaging lenses.Demonstrate proficiency in the use of optical concepts, terms and design/analysis methodology. Demonstrate proficiency with software for opticaldesign and modelling.Experience in polarisation and the non-imaging (illumination) branch of opticsis also welcome, particularly in the analysis of stray-light/ghost image.Optics manufacturing Experience:• DFM: Support the design and development of large lenses, consideringoptical requirements, structural integrity, and manufacturability.• Mass production of lenses: Demonstrate knowledge of various optical-grade materials and high-precision mass production optics manufacturingtechnologies.Collaborate with optics vendors to evaluate and selectappropriate manufacturing and process technologies for mass productionand prototyping.• Metrology: Demonstrate knowledge of lens characterisation equipment andmetrology data interpretation. Support robust quality control measures toensure the production of lenses meets stringent specifications
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience in optics design and analysis.
- Proficiency in optics design software (like Zemax, Code V, LightTools,
- Fred, ASAP…)
- Familiar with CAD software
- Experience in DFM and optics manufacturing is also valuable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Education & Experience
MS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience. PhD in Opticswill be valued.
