This is a highly matrixed organization where your primary manager will not be providing daily oversight of your actions and project management skills. You will be expected to operate independently, while interacting with your clients and stakeholders on a day-to-day basis. As initiatives, programs, and projects close, you will then be assigned to a new body of work with new sponsors and new stakeholders, while maintaining your primary PMAE supervisory chain.
What you will be doing:
You will play a key role in the definition, governance setup, and implementation of critical initiatives in support of Citi strategy. This role can vary based on program ranging from being responsible for the development of strategic plans, coordination of execution down to the tactical execution of program management. The Program Lead will serve as a partner to all stakeholders and form connections across Citi, facilitating cooperation and bringing people together across multiple and internal entities. The individual will lead and effectively drive successful completion of all programs.

Mentor and coach project team members to elicit their best performance and build out skills. In addition, you will be actively building and managing the PMAE relationship with the client and acting as a partner to senior project and program stakeholders.
You will drive accountability and engagement by holding oneself and the team accountable for deliverables and performance of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Be the example of program management excellence by aligning your programs to the PM Practices.
- Establish and execute governance aligned to PM Taxonomy for your assigned work efforts; continually adapts governance based on evolving program requirements.
- Provide challenge to status’s reported to highlight risk.
- Maintain alignment to the approved engagement strategy.
- Manage resources within the program to ensure appropriate workload within the team; continually assesses the program’s resourcing strategy and escalates to the EL for enterprise or strategic resources when necessary.
- Provide the benefit of your experience and network to our clients and assigned initiatives and programs.
- Drive accountability and engagement by holding oneself and the team accountable for deliverables and performance of the program.
- Demonstrate advanced judgment and conduct in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to structure and solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions.
- Manage, mentor and coach team members to elicit their best performance while partnering with the Engagement Lead and people managers to build out skills and/or identify high performing individuals.
- Actively build and manage the PMAE relationship with the client. Works as a partner to build strong relationships with senior project and program stakeholders.
- Implement and leverage the enhanced PM practices to drive value to your clients and stakeholders, work as a partner and deliver results. Maintain 100% compliance.
- Proactively identify and act on opportunities to manage risk through streamlining, simplifying and eliminated redundancies.
- Act strategically by anticipating and designing changes to business systems, processes, templates, and tools in response to initiative/program needs.
- Employ excellent communication skills to negotiate and to articulate complex recommendations and build organizational competency in the use of updated methods and models.
- Set direction and tone of the work by driving the pace and providing clear effective communication.
- Capture and document lessons learned, sharing experiences across PMAE. Identify best practice work product examples and communicate same to the administrators of Sophy (PMAE best practice repository).
- Increase the value proposition of PMAE engagements by providing domain expertise in program management while maintaining focus on the program benefit realization.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience managing complex programs and projects with internal and external resources following a structured methodology.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Technical proficiencies in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead program managers on complex programs managing all activities in lifecycle associated with projects/programs that are long-term, cross lines of business, and high in risk, scope and complexity with a broad impact.
- Must be able to work at designated Citi location in 3 days / week.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification. Or the ability to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in a large corporation, within the financial sector is a plus.
- Finance or accounting experience as a plus.
- Experience with enterprise program management tools.
