Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing automation
Support concept designs for component handling systems and workstation layouts
Create 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar software
Conduct basic tolerance studies, GD&T analysis, and simulations to verify design
Support engineering projects from concept to implementation under the guidance of senior engineers
Assist in project scheduling, documentation, and reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of automation solutions
Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of engineering components and materials
Help analyze and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment
Participate in feasibility studies for new product transfers and process enhancements
Contribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives and workspace optimization efforts
REQUIRED:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineering, or a related field. Available for an internship duration of 3 months or more, starting in January 2026
Basic proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Strong interest in mechanical design, automation, and engineering analysis
Basic understanding of GD&T, simulations, and tolerance studies (preferred but not required)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good command of spoken and written English
Ability to work in a team environment and learn quickly
PREFERRED:
Basic knowledge of automation systems, robotic handling, or manufacturing processes
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO standards is a plus
Previous internship or project experience in automation or mechanical design (preferred but not required)
