Job Description
Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze business requirements to understand their business goals and objectives.
Design and architect scalable and robust WordPress solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, and designers to translate client requirements into technical specifications and project plans.
Lead the development and implementation of custom code for our custom theme, plugins, and API integrations to extend WordPress functionality.
Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on WordPress development best practices, coding standards, and architecture.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
Ensure that all WordPress solutions are optimized for usability, speed, performance, security, and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to WordPress installations, themes, plugins, and integrations.
Stay up to date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in WordPress development and related technologies.
Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to WordPress development processes and tools.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Developer with a focus on WordPress.
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, themes, plugins, and APIs.
Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages.
Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
Solid understanding of web development principles, including responsive design and accessibility.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analytically.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
Experience with the WordPress VIP cloud-based hosting platform is a plus.
WordPress certifications, such as the WordPress Certified Developer, are desirable but not mandatory.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is desired but a commiserate level of experience will be accepted.
Relevant industry certifications and additional training in WordPress development are highly valued.
