What You'll Do
  • Lead, develop and deliver innovative interconnect strategies (including system, application, and component design guidelines) that benefit the business and the suppliers.
  • Proactively identify strategic areas of opportunity across the interconnect commodity for future investment.
  • Use independent judgment to analyze trade-offs, determine methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver system/application-level solutions.
  • Recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans: Proactively identifies and participates in the resolution of sophisticated problems relating to interconnects and associated system level implementations.
  • Bring together and lead multi-functional teams in development and implementation of sophisticated interconnect programs across multiple domains (manufacturing, test, mechanical systems applications, thermal effects, signal integrity, quality).
  • Communicate and present sophisticated ideas, anticipate potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt different points of view.
  • Review and interpret design requirements/specifications and define critical to function parameters in support of applications.
  • Prepare/review calculations with Mechanical engineering (i.e., tolerance analysis) and/or suppliers on proposed solutions.
  • Modify and implement solutions to meet DFM, DFT, DFR requirements.
  • Provide support during manufacturing/assembly of final product at CM/EMS as needed.
  • Manage relationships with key interconnect vendors/partners and act as primary point of contract between Cisco engineering and suppliers.
