Your Role and ResponsibilitiesA Semiconductor Research Device Engineer focuses on the exploration and development of advanced semiconductor technologies and devices. This role involves a mix of research, development, and collaboration with various teams. Here are the key roles and responsibilities associated with this position:
1. Research and Innovation:
- Conduct cutting-edge research on new semiconductor materials, structures, and device concepts.
- Explore novel device architectures and emerging technologies.
2. Device Design and Development
- Design semiconductor devices with a focus on performance optimization and innovation.
- Work with simulation modeling team to understand device behavior and predict performance.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams to develop and refine processes for fabricating advanced semiconductor devices.
- Investigate and implement new fabrication techniques to improve device performance and yield.
3. Characterization and Data Analysis & Interpretation:
- Work with test team to perform electrical and physical characterization of semiconductor devices.
- Develop and execute test plans to assess device performance
- Analyze test data to draw conclusions about device behavior and performance.
- Use statistical and computational tools to interpret results and guide further research.
4. Collaboration and Cross-Disciplinary Work:
- Work closely with material scientists, electrical engineers, and process engineers to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of research findings, design processes, and experimental results.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, conferences, and publications.
6. ESD development work
- Develop and characterize leading edge ESD solutions along with helping manage ESD/Latchup lab testing queue, testsite design, collaboration with TCAD, collaboration with base/passive device team, collaboration with process integration will be needed to be successful in this role.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of semiconductor physics and device theory.
- Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with relevant statistical methods.
- Ability to conduct independent research and think critically about complex problems.
- Experience with device simulation software and characterization tools.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 3 years’ experience in semiconductor research field
- Experience in eSD device would be a plus
- Experience in Integrated Circuit fabrication flow
- Experience in EDA tools, data analysis tools, such as Python or Matlab
