What You Will Do
Design, develop, and maintain features for Eclipse Che’s cloud-based development environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
Collaborate with a global team of engineers, product managers, and community contributors to define technical requirements and implementation strategies.
Write high-quality, maintainable, well-documented and tested code.
Optimize existing components and workflows to improve user experience and system efficiency.
Participate in the Eclipse Che open-source community by contributing code, reviewing pull requests, and engaging in discussions.
Develop and maintain integrations between Eclipse Che and other projects (such as OpenShift / Kubernetes or Microsoft’s VS Code through Che Code).
Contribute to the development and enhancement of projects like the Web Terminal Operator and Dev Workspace Operator.
Collaborate closely with Red Hat’s customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and implement solutions that address their challenges.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Stay current with advancements in cloud-native tools, development environments, and programming practices to ensure Eclipse Che remains cutting-edge.
What You Will Bring
Proven experience as a software engineer with 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
Solid programming skills in Golang.
Solid understanding of Kubernetes, containerization technologies (e.g. Docker), and cloud-native development.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality solutions.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice To Have
Demonstrated ability to contribute to and collaborate within open-source communities.
Experience with IDEs, developer tooling, or related frameworks.
Hands-on experience with OpenShift or other Kubernetes-based platforms.
Understanding of authentication and authorization technologies (e.g. OAuth).
Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
