Job responsibilities:
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Work as an Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) in a highly customer-focused database administration team, which provides 7×24 support in test/prod environments.
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and supporting Database services
- Troubleshooting and resolve AWS RDS database issues in critical production environments, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining system reliability.
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
- Strong expertise in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and database profiling tools.
- Proficient in using real-time monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana.
- Hands-on with CDB & PDB architecture, design and implementation.
- Experience in configuring and managing Oracle RAC, Clusterware, Grid infrastructure, Oracle ASM, OEM and GoldenGate.
- Excellent understanding, installing, administering and working knowledge of Oracle 12c through 19c databases.
- Hands-on with Oracle Database migration/upgrade using different methodologies Data Pump & RMAN Transportable Tablespaces.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other performance monitoring tools.
- Experience with RMAN database backup and recovery using ZDLRA.
- Apply process and architectural improvements to continually improve the availability, capacity, and performance of database systems ·
- Communicate appropriately and efficiently with management, customers, and vendors
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Required to work on weekends/outside regular business hours to support Payments which involves collaborating with various platform teams and partnering with the business to ensure swift resolutions and prevent any business disruptions.
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator with a focus on performance tuning and AWS cloud migration and support will be advantage
