- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills and an ability to come up with creative solutions to impossible-to-solve problems.
- Experience developing high quality design and implementations that scale.
- Experience with scalable distributed systems and service oriented architectures.
- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Eager to learn and learn fast, enjoy a fast paced environment.
- Self-directed, demonstrate leadership potential and a team player.
- A high degree of pragmatism in building the simplest thing that does the job; we want to use technology to solve real-world problems expediently, not indulge in over-designed, unnecessarily intricate software architecture.
- Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
