Your impact

The role involves overseeing power system simulations of complex systems, including:

  • power flow analysis
  • fault ride through, short circuit calculations and protection co-ordination
  • transient stability
  • harmonic and power quality analysis ensuring grid compliance for wind, solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and hybrid projects.

Additionally, the candidate will support Electro Magnetic Transient Analysis (EMTP) for switching and lightning transient studies, energisation studies, and dynamic simulation of networks involving HVDC, FACTS, and both conventional and inverter-based generation. Proficiency in statistical software and a solid understanding of analytical methodologies are essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively both in written reports and verbally. Experience of writing/presenting technical papers at conferences and technical study committees, would be advantageous.

Here's what you'll need
  • An Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in the energy field with emphasis on power system analysis (consultancy / industrial / commercial / utilities) including competence in the major study packages ((PSS/e, DigSilent, PSCAD, ETAP.).
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to develop clear work programmes and communicate requirements to other team members.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to engage with colleagues and clients and provide clear, evidence-based advice verbally and within written reports and presentations.
  • Capable of delivering high quality engineering deliverables.
  • Membership of an Engineering Institution (preferable)
