Qualcomm is seeking an experienced card design lead for accelerator products ideally in the Data Center space. The candidate should have experience in taking a card design from concept to production. The candidate should be able to:

  • Plan, design, and develop electronic systems, circuits, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, networking topology, and server/edge systems.

  • Conduct simulations and analyses of designs. Develops emulation solutions. He should be able to evaluate, characterize, and develop the manufacturing solution for leading-edge products in the most advanced processes.

  • Interface with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Designers, Software/System Engineering, Architecture Development, Business Groups, Customers, Customer Engineering) to drive and incorporate the latest test solutions in the production program to improve the yield, test time, and quality.

  • Evaluate reliability of materials, properties, and techniques used in production.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops basic features and components of hardware designs in line with product proposals or roadmaps

  • Applies basic design rules and processes for electronic hardware, equipment, and/or integrated circuitry

  • Reads device specification sheets and interprets basic details required to design various hardware features

  • Evaluates devices and documents performance over various operating conditions and configurations.

  • Leads in the assessment of common design features to identify potential flaws (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hardware), compatibility issues, and/or compliance issues

  • Documents basic details about materials, components, chipsets, and assemblies for a device, and records important changes to design

  • Troubleshoots basic issues with product designs.

  • Provides reasonable schedule for own tasks to project lead.

  • Develops understanding of Qualcomm products

  • Work with ODM on joint design, address technical issues and support manufacture related issue(DFX) toward mass production

  • Actively seeks knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and advances in various engineering fields from publicly available information; understands and applies advanced concepts

  • Collaborates with internal teams to develop comprehensive specifications, DOE and materials testing laboratories.

  • Coordinates across multiple development sites which include Qualcomm sites as well as ODM/JDMs, both domestic and international. Travel to other development and customer sites is also required.

  • Able to bring consensus to technical tradeoff decisions at the hardware, software and chip design levels.

  • Able to influence and bring technical recommendations or requirements across teams in other disciplines and geographic locations.

  • Coordinating and performing technical training for ODMs.

  • Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to enhance test and production efficiency

  • Interfaces with various cross functional teams (RF, EMC compliance, Analog and Digital IC designers, Software, System Engineering, Test Engineers, Customer Engineering, and Operations) to drive and incorporate the latest design solutions in the production program to improve yield, productivity, and quality.
