Ensure timely translation of new HAMR product/process transfer from US R&D to Penang. Closely work with counterpart in R&D to develop new process / materials for performance improvements.
Continuous Improvement of Sputter yields / productivity / high PPH for product maturity. Establish all necessary unique process controls for large volume builds based on the learning at NPI stage & HDD requirements.
Conduct partition studies for troubleshooting root cause of high particle / low yield. Work together with the team members to take appropriate corrective actions for improvements including but not limited to implementing target sandblast criterias, process optimizations, working with target suppliers on quality improvements etc
Work with Test yield team on Failure Analysis, understanding of various defect mechanisms of HAMR media and their relationship with sputter process / materials etc.
Optimize sputter machine start-up & operation procedures to ensure process consistency & repeatability. Work with the team on machine start-up time reduction before media characterization activities in order to reduce downtime & improve productivity.
Work together with Sputter Equipment team on hardware improvement projects for downtime reduction & yield improvements. Ex- sputter magpacks, different type of cathodes, disk holder designs etc.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Bachelors of Material Science, Physics or any other engineering field with min 3 years experience in HDD Media Sputter Engineering. Experience in thin film deposition process, PVD, CVD, sputtering will also be considered.
Master / Ph.D of Material Science, Physics or any other engineering field with related Media Sputter Engineering Experience.
