Key Areas of Responsibility

As part of the Global Marketing Localization Team (Corporate Marketing), the Localization Specialist (Japanese-speaking) will
• Work in an international environment, engage and communicate with team members, partners and stakeholders across the globe, specifically in Japan
• Learn about and execute SAP’s localization strategy and operating model for programs/campaigns as well as for web content and other digital channels
• Manage content review and localization to increase the relevance and appeal of marketing content to local audiences
• Apply localization best practices and provide reporting


The Localization Specialists will:
• provide in-language review and editing services for marketing content leveraging relevant tools in SAP Marketing to ensure SAP’s quality standards
• independently review and validate the quality of translated content and adapt for local audiences in line with defined Localization Guidelines and in alignment with regional solution area experts
• closely collaborate and build relationships with global, regional and local stakeholders, including translation service providers, regional and local solution marketers and web mangers
• regularly report status leveraging relevant tools
• contribute to ongoing process and tool improvements


• Relevant content marketing and/or localization experience
• Proven proofreading and editing skills in Japanese combined with cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt content to the local cultural contexts and target audiences
• Project management experience and ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Proven ability to work with a complex tool landscape; understanding or previous knowledge of content localization processes and content management tools is a strong plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

Education & Qualifications / Skills & Competencies
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in marketing, communications, linguistics, translations or a related subject
• Native speaker (or equivalent) of Japanese and fluency in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a strong plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility and ability to adapt to changes in project scope or requirements
• Attention to detail and accuracy with an emphasis on both agility and quality
• Willingness to acquire SAP product and solution knowledge as well as new skills to meet evolving needs
• Must be a team player with the ability and passion to collaborate with a diverse – and fun - team in an international and virtual across time zones
