Our team deals with immense quantities of data, pushing the envelope on scale and various advanced analytical techniques to find and mitigate security threats. You’ll be expected to develop robust large scale distributed systems for processing data, and to provide technical leadership to other engineers to do the same. While you may not be a security expert just yet, you have a passion for solving security challenges in innovative ways. You’ll develop a broad and deep understanding of the overall AWS security posture and develop many of the core technology components to improve and scale.Key job responsibilities
This is a role that combines robust software development of scalable systems, software security, and advanced analysis of systems at scale. You will lead a team of engineers who build tools that automatically detect security issues in AWS systems. You will have ownership of the technical solutions your team delivers. You will work with Software Development Engineers and Security Engineers, providing coaching and feedback to grow their careers. You will be responsible for setting goals and defining the roadmap that delivers the highest impact to the business.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Knowledge of software security.
