Responsibilities:

In this role you would be responsible for managing the health, safety, and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America sponsored or hosted events. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing security plans and protocols for events, ensuring the safety of clients and associates. You will also ensure proper screening/vetting procedures are implemented for all event guests.

As part of this role, you’ll manage projects and assessments associated with the security of the event. You will be required to travel in advance of the event commencing and perform detailed security surveys for all identified locations, making the necessary contacts and arrangements to ensure guest safety. In addition, you will be responsible for analysing and identifying potential threats through extensive monitoring and analysis of multiple platforms.

You will possess the ability to respond to all medical situations. As Major Events Security Manager, you could be first on scene and required to perform first responder duties. You must be able to manage ongoing incidents, medical conditions and / or event investigations during the event. This is in addition to event oversight responsibilities with planner, event staff, additional security and venue. A key component of this role is to be able to recognize priorities and what may be handled when you return to your room at the conclusion of day.

You will maintain close working relationships with all lines of business supporting Major Events, working directly with Intelligence, Executive Protection and Protective Services. You will be able to identify and react to security situations 24/7 that may occur during events. You’ll collaborate closely with event planners, local law enforcement and venue partners.

This role can require extensive hours spent on your feet; A typical day for investor and internal management conferences can be 14–15 hours per day for consecutive days.

Security Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for each event, including risk assessments, security staffing requirements, and emergency response strategies.

Team Management: Select, train, and supervise security personnel. Ensure all security professionals are fully briefed on their responsibilities and the specifics of each event.

Coordination with External Agencies: Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and private security firms to ensure a coordinated approach to event security.


Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all security activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest in security technology and procedures to enhance safety measures.

: Serve as the primary contact for all security-related incidents. Lead the resolution with minimal disruption to the event, and ensure Security Leadership maintains awareness.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a Close Protection, Major Events Security role or similar
  • Deep knowledge of security planning, protocols and vetting procedures
  • Experienced in Crisis Management
  • Ability to analyse threats and plan appropriately
  • Solid stakeholder management capabilities, including working closely with law enforcement and other agencies.
  • Ability to lead and direct a team
  • Critical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations
  • Experienced in analysing and responding to business cases
  • Solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements and best practices related to security activities.
