We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build data-driven strategies that enhance the authentication and risk signaling of financial instruments across our platform. In this role, you will analyze large-scale transactional and behavioral data to detect patterns of fraud, identify vulnerabilities, and generate actionable insights to launch risk strategies to mitigate fraud and influence product partners to build product solutions that improve security and user experience without compromising on customer friction. You will collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to socialize new ideas and build capabilities. Your work will be critical in shaping scalable, intelligent systems that mitigate fraud while minimizing user friction.

Job Description:

  • BS/BA degree in Mathematics Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics or related quantitative discipline or equivalent with 6+ years’ experience.; Masters degree and 4+ years related professional work experience
    developing data-driven fraud strategies, leveraging analytical insights to detect patterns, assess risk, and design scalable solutions to combat fraudulent activity.
  • Proven experience working with large datasets , with strong proficiency in SQL, Python/ R and any data visualization tools. Skilled in conducting deep analytical investigations and solving complex problems, with a solid understanding of machine learning techniques and statistical concepts .
  • Experience evaluating and integrating third-party data vendors to enhance fraud detection capabilities and strengthen risk signaling.
  • Ability to translate data-driven insights into relevant stories and make decisions even if the data ambiguous.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems and e-commerce platforms, with hands-on experience designing and analyzing A/B tests to evaluate and optimize product and risk strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead projects individually and mentor other junior data scientists.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $143,500 to $212,850
