Primarily acting as organizational researcher, this role will provide the Talent Analytics & Insights group with technical expertise, developing analytical models with practical, valuable applications in areas such as strategic workforce planning, attracting and retaining talent, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, high potential talent identification & development, and employee development.
As a data-driven organization, this role is critical for us to progress our analytical maturity, fully utilizing our HR data lake to predict future trends, identify leading indicators, define data limits and evaluate program success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a technical expert, fluent in the language of data and able to quickly translate a client question into a research question
- Lead the Prediction and Forecasting workstream, building capabilities within HR and cross-functionally using HR data
- Advise Talent Analytics team members on research study design methodologies and conduct analyses based on available data
- Perform deep-dive analyses using traditional statistical, supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to deliver insights on root causes and recommend continuous improvement actions
- Act as the TA&I data steward by identifying data quality challenges and collaborating with business process owners to drive consistency
- Provide SME expertise in the design and management of qualitative and quantitative data collection to expand and enhance the HR data lake
- Identify research opportunities by mining data to uncover practical talent insights and business value
- Participate in and contribute to collaborative forums within BSC, sharing methodologies and expertise across functions
- Integrate workforce planning and data elements into BSC’s planning ecosystem, challenging and testing long-held beliefs before systemization
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics roles with demonstrated ability to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting workforce planning or conducting predictive analytics using machine learning techniques (both supervised and unsupervised)
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in assessing data and statistical analyses to support business needs; experience with Natural Language Processing, predictive modeling, and forecasting methods; proficiency in R
- Experience in data engineering, including pulling, cleaning, validating, integrating, and evaluating large datasets from multiple structured and unstructured sources; experience with Athena or SQL preferred
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting, including use of platforms such as Tableau; ability to respond to data-related inquiries using R, SQL, and Excel
- Demonstrated experience applying analytical skills to define business problems, assess needs, present solutions, and communicate findings throughout a project lifecycle
- Proven ability to approach complex data and ambiguous business issues with structured problem-solving techniques
- Strong attention to detail, including the ability to validate data accuracy and ensure clear presentation of findings
- Ability to translate complex data and insights into clear and concise narratives for a variety of audiences
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment and build collaborative partnerships across the organization
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree or coursework in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Human Resources Management, People Analytics, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
- Experience with survey methodology and design for business units or enterprise-wide initiatives
- Knowledge of competency modeling and assessment validation practices
- Familiarity with technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), or other advanced analytics tools used in data analysis and insights generation
