JOB DESCRIPTION

You will provide on-site management of Facility Management hard and soft services and minor and major works projects at Surrey Memorial Hospital Critical Care Tower. You will report to the Senior Facilities Manager; however, work is performed with limited supervision. You will provide leadership for assigned operations such as FM hard services (demand, planned and preventive maintenance) and soft services (housekeeping, roads, grounds and landscaping maintenance, pest control, administration of the computerized maintenance management system and help desk services), You will provide leadership for full cycle minor and major works projects including: estimating/costing (maintenance and life cycle), contractor management, records and reporting requirements, commissioning, punch lists, client sign-off and billings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely completion and adherence to preventive maintenance plans.
  • Participate in forward planning of site operations (resourcing, contractor scheduling, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Facility Manager on operational planning and resource allocation to optimize facility performance.
  • Maintain relevant site documentation and ensure quality management.
  • Oversee maintenance services using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) platform.
  • Assist Facility Manager to support monthly Opex (Operating Expense) cost management.
  • Identify minor repair works to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Provide on-call telephone assistance and emergency response to the facility.
  • Budget and financial management.
  • Third-party contract management.
  • Conduct OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) risk assessments.
  • Supervise the planning and monitoring of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, as well as renovation and expansion projects.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support facility projects and initiatives.

MUST HAVES:

  • 5+ years in facility management, including managing FM hard and soft services, minor and major works projects, and supervising multi-disciplinary staff and subcontractors.
  • Trades Certification and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent training.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain CPIC Clearance and immunization as required by the Public Health Act and Client requirements.
  • Post-secondary education in Facility Management, Building Trades, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial reporting for maintenance and projects.
  • Must have immunization (including COVID-19 vaccination) as required by the customer and Public Health Act.
